Actor Richard Gutierrez hurt in a car accident

Assistant killed, says report

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Actor Richard Gutierrez was injured early Friday in a car accident that also killed his assistant, according to a television report.

In a phone patch interview by GMA Network’s “Unang Hirit” with Gutierrez’s publicist Jun Lalin, he said the actor underwent surgery.

Gutierrez’s assistant whom Lalin identified as Nomar, died in the accident.

Lalin said Gutierrez’s parents, Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez, and sister Ruffa were now with the actor.

Police said Gutierrez was transferred to the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City.
